Our Owner
Hey there! I'm Dawn Courisky, the founder, owner and Executive floral artist behind Blooming in the Lou.
Being in the artistic world most of my life, creating with wood flowers came very naturally. And you can trust that I have the knowledge to make your vision a reality. I work from my home studio and love it! I am also a mom of three kiddos, and have four grand babies.
I pride myself on stunning color schemes and arrangements that are not only beautiful, but unique. I always request inspiration photos for large events, but I will never copy the design of another florist and believe in the artistry of floral arranging.
No matter the size or scope of your project, I will design all of the elements in your floral arrangements with your specific vision, color scheme and overall vibe in mind. And if you don't know what you want - you can count on me to help you find the vision, or create from one of my many ideas that is always floating around in my head waiting to be created!
I absolutely love my home state of Missouri, hence where the name Blooming in the Lou came from, but I can also ship orders nationwide and beyond.
How did you get started with wood flowers?
I found wood flowers back in 2019 through a local vintage shop in our areas. They offered a class and I fell in love. As soon as I saw sola wood flowers in person, I knew I wanted to add them to my arsenal of crafting skills. I have always had the inherent desire to create, so as a self-proclaimed craft-a-holic, this was no different.
Blooming in the Lou was born from the fact that our other business ReLoved by CC & Me kept getting requests for wedding and event florals. That business creates up cycled decor and the name didn’t fit the bill. So here I am Blooming in the Lou.
